Wednesday night we decided that we were going to be on the “Mark Miller Plan.”  The idea was West Fork of the Pig with a Big Creek bailout.  The radar looked good and our hopes were high. We woke up Thursday morning to a disappointment.  Nothing was running.  Not the West Fork, not Big Creek, not even the Rocky Broad.  Instead of joining the masses at the Green, we decided to wait it out and see if something would go.  About 3 o’clock, the North Fork of the French Broad finally hit minimum.  We decided to keep it local instead of driving anywhere so out to the North Fork we headed.  Now since Mark Miller talks so much trash about this particular river (as he did all day Thursday), I have posted this shot of him stomping it at Boxcar.  Not as impressive as the Metlako shots, but then again, we don’t have any 80 footers handy.  Enjoy.
