Taylor Robertson getting an underwater golden stroke on Bald Rock Canyon. I had to send the second shot as proof, since the first almost looks photoshopped :)

CO Update: Gore Canyon

Sunday, August 2nd, 2009

Well most everything has dropped out here in the great state of Colorado.  Except for one that has dropped in: Gore.  This spectacular canyon is filled with big, juicy, fun rapids.  Gene Harb, Jacob Roland and I headed up there, none of us having seen it before.  All we knew was what was in the guide book, and that people said, “it all goes.”  We scouted a lot, but it all went.  Here are some shots from our adventure.

About a week later, I headed up there again with some of the folks that I work with.  Keith Kirchner, my boss, has been a Gore guide for years, but wanted to get a practice run in before the season started up.  Here he is making it look good, and bad.  Carnage is awesome.

Keith ended staying under for quite a while. All was good though.

Well, I’m signing out from the West.  Hopefully I will see ya’ll soon on the rivers of the Southeast.
